Rules Update: Appearance Requirement

The appearance requirement has been updated to clarify what is required and the penality for not meeting the requirements.

Appearance Requirements
1. All armies must be painted. (No exceptions!) Invasion Kenosha considers painted to mean that an army has some level of detail in the painting. Three colors alone is not acceptable for the event. This does not mean a player's army must be golden daemon quality, just that it must display to the judge that an honest effort was put into building it.
2. Non-GW models are welcome and encouraged.
3. Display bases are not required, but are strongly encouraged.
4. All models must adhere to WYSIWYG.
5. All models must be based. Bases must be painted.

Any models found to not be meeting these standards will be banned from use during the event. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the judge at equinox999equinox@yahoo.com or post in the comments section of this entry.

The Army Book Challenge

A new addition to Invasion Kenosha II is the introduction of a new contest called:

The Army Book Challenge
The army book challenge is simple in design, but difficult to win. On the day of the event, each player must submit which army book they will be using for the event. After registration is closed, a review of all the army books being used will be conducted by the judge. For each book from the list below that has only one player using it, that player will receive an entry for the Army Book Challenge. If all books have at least one player using them, then each book that has two or less players using it will earn those players an entry into the Army Book Challenge. The results of the army book challenge have no impact on any player's tournament score. This activity is intended as fun and meant to inspire diversity among the players attending the event.

The Official Army Book Challenge List
(Note: Any additional army lists that are approved by the judge, like the Zombie Pirate list, will be assigned to one of the categories below for the purpose of this contest.)

Bretonnia
Beasts of Chaos
Chaos Dwarfs
Daemons of Chaos
Dark Elves
Dogs of War
Dwarfs
Empire
High Elves
Lizardmen
Ogre Kingdoms
Orcs & Goblins

Daisy May Memorial 2010 Charity Raffle

Over the weekend, my sidekick of the last six years, Daisy May, passed away. She was a constant reminder of what made me smile and was my companion on many a late night as I sat at my painting table. She will be missed for her sandwich stealing antics and love of exploring the world from the back of a 73 Mustang.

In her honor, I have decided to name the annual charity raffle at Invasion Kenosha after her. My hope is that donations collected for the raffle will help others find their own sidekicks at the Safe Harbor Animal Shelter.

You will be greatly missed Big Dog...

Invasion Kenosha will be running a very special set of raffles for the Safe Harbor Humane Society in Kenosha, WI. These raffles, with the help of our generous sponsors, will be used to collect donations for Safe Harbor.

There are two ways to participate in the Safe Harbor Charity Raffle.

Option One:

Below is a wishlist of items that Safe Harbor needs to maintain their shelter. For each item donated, the person making the donation will receive a number of raffle tickets for the charity raffle that equals the whole dollar amount of the donation. (For example, a $6.99 box of trash bags would earn 7 raffle tickets, while a $2.35 box of Kleenex would earn 2 raffle tickets.) There is no limit to the amount of stuff off the list that a single person may donate, however, all donations must be new and you must have the receipt for any donations (no exceptions!).

Pine Sol (Blue, Green or Lemon)Bleach
Liquid Laundry Detergent
Paper Towels and Kleenex
Toilet Paper
13 Gallon Trash Bags
55 Gallon Trash Bags
KNR Kitten Formula
Washable Cat Toys
Heavy-Duty, Washable Dog Toys
Unscented Clay Litter (non-clumping)
Cat and Dog Treats
Postage Stamps
Copy Paper (8 1/2 X 11) (white and colored)
Letter Size File Folders
Post It Notes
Gift Cards for Petco, Petsmart, Walmart, Office Max or gas cards.

No Dog or Cat food needed at this time! (thank you)

Option Two:

Raffle tickets may be purchased for a $1.00 per ticket during the event. All money collected this way will be donated to the Safe Harbor Animal Shelter in the form of PetSmart gift card.

Additional rules and restrictions
The Daisy May Memorial Charity Raffle is a separate raffle from the Invasion Kenosha General Raffle, tickets for the two raffles are not interchangeable. Invasion Kenosha and Safe Harbor Animal Shelter have the right to reject any donation regardless of reason. Prizes will be raffled off at the conclusion of Invasion Kenosha. Participants in the charity raffle must be present at the time of the raffle to win. Participation in the charity raffle does not require participation in Invasion Kenosha.

Rules Update: Mystic Requirement

Based on some recent conversations, the following clarifications (blue text) have been made to the rules regarding the mystic model.

The Mystic Rules
1. The model must be mounted on a 20mm or 25mm base.
2. The model must match the appearance of the army (i.e. no using a lizardman for a dark elf army).
3. The model must be painted. No exceptions.
4. The model does not count as any unit in the army's respective book. Rules for the use of the mystic will be provided on the day of the event.
5. The mystic must clearly be modeled to easily identify it as the mystic. This does not mean that an elaborate conversion must be made, simply that someone cannot state that the chaos warrior with the extra static grass is the mystic.
6. When it comes to a player’s appearance score, the model will be judged based on the criteria of whether or not upon first glance, does it stand out as the mystic.
7. When it comes to winning the Best Mystic Model, I will be selecting the model I like the most from those that meet the requirements of 1-6. Winning or losing the Best Mystic award has no impact on a player’s tournament score

The Reward
There are two rewards for making sure to bring a mystic. First, the model will be factored into each players' painting score. Second, the best model, as selected by the judge, will receive a cool prize and award.

Please feel free to post any questions or comments.
